Other Misdemeanors
Our office handles all types of misdemeanor cases and if you have been charged, do not try to handle it alone.
And don’t believe the myth “it’s just a misdemeanor” and downplay a conviction that actually carries significant consequences.
In addition to a possible jail sentence of six months or a year in county jail (depending on the charge), there are hefty conviction fines and, more importantly, a criminal record. Not to mention the 36 to 48 months of probation that almost always accompanies a misdemeanor conviction!
You can also be denied a professional license for having a misdemeanor on your record, even if it is for a nonviolent conviction such as a Fish and Game violation.
If you carry a Concealed Weapons Permit, your CWP can be temporarily or permanently revoked, again even if the conviction is for something rather innocuous like having an undersized lobster!
Further, future employers and landlords can see the conviction on a background check. While they may not know the facts surrounding the conviction, people have a tendency to prejudge and the mere presence of a misdemeanor causes them to reject your application.
Give yourself a fighting chance and contact our office. We have a substantial record of reducing misdemeanors to infractions or dismissing them altogether.
If you already have a misdemeanor conviction, contact us to discuss Arrest Record Sealing and Record Expungements.
